ARtist Statement & BIOGRAPHY
Vick Naresh (b. Bombay (Mumbai), India) is a visual artist based in Hamilton, Canada. In his work, he encapsulates a sense of fragile beauty with narratives that traverse landscapes of social dynamics, contemporary culture, and personal experiences, with a particular emphasis on themes of displacement, belonging, and identity.
Naresh’s aesthetic is a multi-layered fusion of techniques, combining an evocative visual language, geometric structures, and the manifestation of imagined environments through his distinctive use of vibrant color. The shapes and structures in his work are derived from a wide variety of inspirations and art historical references but also dwell within the realms of spiritual and scientific acknowledgements. His creations serve as multifaceted portals to moments of contemplation within an ethereal universe, grappling with the intangible as they invite the viewer to unravel mysteries from time rediscovered.
