Fiona Freemark
Still Lost In It

October 16th - November 7th, 2026
Reception: Saturday October 17th, 2-4PM

Fiona begins her process by photographing what surrounds her, gathering and documenting moments that she later returns to through cutting, weaving, embroidery and collage. Reworking the images allows her to re- engage with memories and environments in a more tactile and intuitive way. The process brings together a desire for structure and repetition with an element of play, creating space for connections between experiences, places, and feelings to emerge.

In her exhibition, Still Lost In It, Fiona draws from photographs taken on the west coast of Canada. Cutting and layering the photographs mimics the experience of moving through the landscape. The cut silhouettes partially obscure the image, recalling the experience of walking through a forest or driving along winding roads, where dense foliage can initially block a view before gradually giving way to an unexpected lookout. As the landscape changes with movement, the photographic image similarly shifts between obscurity and visibility.
